Our story

The Omra Pour Elles project was born from a simple, but profoundly striking observation.

Every year, many Muslims go on Umrah with much love and sincerity… but without always having the right information.

Mistakes are then made, sometimes unknowingly: some can invalidate rites, others diminish their rewards.

I experienced this myself.

For each Umrah, it was necessary to prepare, search, verify, compare opinions, cross-reference sources… Information was scattered, sometimes contradictory, and it was not always easy to know what to do, when, and how — especially for women.

This is how the idea was born to compile, structure and transmit, based on reliable and authentic sources from the teachings of recognized scholars among the great ulema, everything that is truly useful to perform Umrah with knowledge, serenity and confidence.

I am a mother of five children, may Allah bless them, and I lived and studied for nearly ten wonderful years in Medina. I have also had the privilege of performing nearly fifty Umrahs by the grace of Allah.

This life experience, learning and fieldwork naturally led me to want to put this knowledge at the service of the community, in particular the sisters and families.

From this work was born My Guide Omra for Women, conceived as a clear, practical and accessible companion to accompany women before, during and after their Omra.

In response to feedback and expressed needs, this guide was then adapted for different audiences: children, teenagers, husbands, so that everyone could experience this adoration at their own level, with understanding and serenity.

Gradually, other resources emerged: a coloring book to allow younger children to familiarize themselves with Umrah in a fun way, practical neck warmers designed to accompany pilgrims on the ground, and other tools designed with a single objective: to facilitate worship and refocus hearts on what is essential.

Over time, the project has grown by the grace of Allah.

Around Omra Pour Elles, a team has gradually formed: proofreaders, assistants, community managers, webmasters, graphic designers, illustrators, order pickers and logistics managers, printers, distributors and resellers…

The recordings of all the invocations in Arabic were made by a brother who was a student and guide in Mecca, in order to help with correct and authentic pronunciation.

My own children have been heavily involved throughout the project — sometimes against their will ;) — and have become true testers, proofreaders and daily assistants, while my husband provides me with advice and support, drawing on the privilege he had of working for the Prophet's Mosque ﷺ during our years in Medina.

This project is first and foremost a collective work, made possible only by the permission of Allah.

I ask Allah to purify my intention, to place blessings in this work, and to allow this project to continue to grow so that it may be a true support for all the sisters and families who go on Umrah.
